Eco-Warrior Trip to the Veolia 'Waste into Energy' Site...
Our Eco-Warriors completed a thoroughly fascinating visit to the Veolia ‘Waste into Energy’ site in New Haven. They learned all about how unrecyclable waste is burned to produce energy for 25,000 homes in the area. The children found out that Veolia works closely with the Environment Agency to ensure minimal impact on the environment; they send the ash waste to be used as aggregate for roads and ensure minimal emissions from their chimneys.
